Julia H. Wentz

 

Julia Wentz is a voice teacher in the Salt Lake City, Utah area, with 12 years teaching experience. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from the University of Utah, where she studied with one of the state's leading voice technicians, Professor Julie Wright Costa. Most recently, Mrs. Wentz performed the role of Musetta in Puccini’s La Bohème with Lyrical Opera Theater. Over the past 20 years, Julia’s diverse career has included opera, oratorio, musical theater, classical art song, and jazz. She has performed with professional opera companies in Utah and California. She has performed in Salzburg, Austria and made her European debut in 2010 as Annina in Verdi's La Traviata with La Musica Lirica in Novafeltria, Italy. With the University of Utah Lyric Opera, Mrs. Wentz has performed the role of Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Drusilla in L’incoronazione di Poppea, Soeur Antoine in Dialogues des Carmélites, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, and La Suora Zelatrice in Suor Angelica. Mrs. Wentz’ has also appeared as a concert soloist in Bach’s Magnificat with the Madeleine Choir at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Beethoven’s Fantasia in C Minor with the Utah Philharmonia, Handel’s Messiah with Utah Lyric Opera and several community organizations, and was a featured soloist in the 2010 Art Meets Fashion Human Rights Campaign benefit event in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Wentz has been a two-time finalist in the NATS competition for the Northern Utah Chapter.

 

Julia lives in West Jordan, Utah with her husband, four sons, and the best dog ever.
